The site includes a summary of the project being carried out in schools using the Stephen Lawrence Report funding. It also contains the new guidelines for teaching contentious issues in relation to the current 'War Against Terrorism'

steps to a sustainable future

An online debate on sustainable development and a chance for schools and
children to measure their footprint and learn how to reduce or improve their
impact on the planet. With activities that empower children to take action to
improve the quality of life in communities locally and globally.

StoryTents is an exciting new multi-sensory literacy resource for Early Years and Key Stage One to be loaned to schools in Tower Hamlets through The Schools Library Service. Encouraging imagination, learning and knowledge about the world through literacy, StoryTents stimulates group discussion and interaction in a creative and tactile space. As a traditional shelter the tent is a perfect environment for experiencing and learning about cultures, music, activities and stories from around the world. The theme of our first tent is Homes - local and Global. Future StoryTents will focus on journeys, play and toys, food, and waste and re-cycling.
